How to get the Spanish Government help to pay the rent of your house (free help and guide for foreigners)
Due to the questions asked by many of foreigners living in the Canary Islands, I would like to offer my free advise on the subject related to government help for rent payments.
Microcredit without interest.
The Spanish Government, with the ICO institute has approved a line of guarantees and microcredits without expenses or interests that can be returned in 6 years, expandable to 10.
These grants must be devoted entirely to the payment of the rent of your house, and may cover a maximum amount of six monthly payments.
In addition, for those tenants who still cannot afford their rent, they will have direct State aid to pay off their debt (up to 900 euros a month and 200 euros of supplies and maintenance).
- New aid program that is incorporated into the 2018-2021 State Housing Plan (with the support of the ICO). The amount of this aid will be up to 900 euros per month and up to 100% of the rent or, where appropriate, up to 100% of the loan that has been requested. The exact bodies of each Autonomous Community and the Cities of Ceuta and Melilla will determine the exact amount of these grants, within the limits established for this program.
To request a microcredit, the tenant will have to present to his financial institution the documentation required by the Government. This loan will go directly to paying the rent, that is, «the beneficiary will not be able to physically dispose of the money», papers that you have to present to prove your situation:
- In legal unemployment situation
- Due to cessation of activity of own-account workers
- number of people who live in the habitual residence it is necessary to present the family book or document accrediting a domestic partner, the certificate of the persons registered in the dwelling
- A responsible statement from the debtor or debtors.
If you need more help, I would like to offer you my free guidance in this hard times.
